BIRTHDAY PARTY FAQS

How far in advance do I need to book my party? 

At least two weeks in advance. Birthdays book quickly and are honored on a first come, first served basis. If you have a specific date in mind, we recommend booking around a month in advance for a better chance at securing it.

How far out am I able to book my party?

Non-members are able to reserve dates up to 2 months in advance. Members are able to reserve dates up to 3 months in advance.

If I sign up for a membership after scheduling the party, can the price be reduced? 

Yes, Member discounts are automatically applied to the day-of payment. Communicate the update with the Guest Relations Coordinator to have the price reduced. 

Can I change the amount of children who are going to attend the party after attendees RSVP?

Yes, you can change the party size up to 7 days before the date of the party. No changes may be made less than 7 days before the date of the party. 

Can I change which package I want before the party?

Yes, all changes to the package type must be submitted to the Guest Relations Coordinator at least 2 weeks or more prior to the party.

 

Can I bring my own food? 

Yes, you can bring in any outside food. You cannot have a vendor set up, however.

 

Does the Museum provide food? 

No, the Museum does not provide any food.

 

What paper goods does the Museum provide for the Deluxe Birthday parties? 

Table cloths, napkins, cups, silverware, cake knife, and plates are all provided. 

 

Does the Museum provide decorations?

We supply decorations specific to each theme for our Deluxe Birthday parties. 

 

Am I allowed to bring in my own decorations? 

Yes, you can bring in your own decorations entirely or as extra to what we provide. Please note, guests are responsible for setting up and taking down decorations and disposal in this case.

How long can I stay in the party room after the allotted party time is over?

Guests are permitted to stay no longer than 15 minutes after the agreed upon time of the end of the party for clean up. etc. If this is violated, the host will be charged a $50 fee. 

 

How long do the activities last?

Each activity lasts approximately 15-20 minutes depending on the size and age range of the group. 
 

How many tables and chairs are in the party room? 

Three child tables and 20 child chairs, along with one standard serving table. 

 

Can we have the party outside in the courtyard? 

Yes, it is an extra $50 to have the party in the courtyard. 

 

Can the party be moved inside if the weather is not permitting?
Yes, as long as the amount of people is under the party room maximum capacity of 35. 

Where should we park for birthday parties?

The Museum has 2 hour free parking on the Museum side of the street in front of our Orange Street entrance, as well as 1 hour free parking on the Museum side of the street in front of our 2nd Street entrance. There are paid parking options around the Museum as well.

Can the party be held on a weekday?

Birthday parties are currently only booked on Saturdays and Sundays.

 

Can we do two activities? 

No, only one activity is permitted per party. 

 

Do the children AND adults have admission to the Museum for the day of the party? 

Yes, all birthday party guests, including adult chaperones, have admission to the Museum all day of the party. They may come before or stay after the party.
